Find the quickest way to get to your next wild break...
Connemara is home to wild breathtaking land and seascapes. Getting here is relatively easy and travelling around is simple enough with planning. We have tried to make your travel as easy as possible with the information provided below.
Direct flights from North America and Europe operate all year round to Dublin with a limited number to Shannon. Drive times from Dublin and Shannon are 4 hours and 3 hours respectively to safely reach Connemara. Other regional airports include Galway and Knock and connecting flights can be arranged from Dublin but again flights are less frequent and could involve a delay or even an overnight stop in Dublin. The simplest way to reach Connemara from the main airports is to pre-book car hire and then drive to Galway city and then take the Clifden Road (N59). Travel time from Dublin airport is approximately 3hrs 45 mins depending on traffic and you don’t get lost! There are bus services non-stop from Dublin airport to Galway (travel time approximately 3hrs) with a connecting bus service into Connemara from the same terminal building in Galway (travel time 40 mins to 1hr 15 mins depending on destination in Connemara).
